Golden turmeric milk
The one drink here for the end of the day rather than the start, and the black pepper is not optional — it is what makes the turmeric do anything at all.

Ingredients
For the whole dish · serves 1
- Coconut milk5 fl oz
- Coconut oil¼ oz
- Ginger0 oz
- Granulated erythritol¼ oz
- Ground turmerica teaspoon
- Black peppera good grind
Method
5 steps · 10 minutes
- Shake the can of coconut milk hard before opening it, or you pour off the thin water and leave the fat behind.
- Grate the ginger finely and warm it with the coconut milk, turmeric, pepper and erythritol until steaming. Do not let it boil.
- Hold it just below a simmer for 5 minutes. This is the only step that matters — raw turmeric tastes dusty and it needs the time to lose that.
- Blend for 15 seconds with the coconut oil, or the oil sits on top as a slick.
- Pour through a small strainer to catch the ginger, and drink it hot.
